Initiatives I want passed

1. Funding of campaigns for and against all California ballot initiatives shall be restricted to individuals and entities within California only.

2. Funding and promotion of campaigns for and against California ballot initiatives by religious organizations shall be prohibited, and those religious organizations that violate this shall lose their California tax-exempt status.

3. Amend the California constitution to read "Proposal and/or passage of any retroactive amendment shall not be accepted as part of this constitution."

4. Repeal Prop 8.

5. After all that is done, amend the California constitution to read "Amendment of the California constitution shall require a supermajority of 60% or more of all ballots cast. Amendments to the California constitution shall be presented to the voters twice, each time requiring a supermajority."

EDIT: California Initiative Guide - deep pockets have deep rights, I guess.

I'm fucking pissed about Prop 8 - and some "Dakota News" outfit was crowing about it and whining about how the No campaign received all kinds of money from Hollywood and liberal outsiders - yeah, as if the Yes campaign wasn't funded by all sorts of out of state sources like the Mormons.

Bah, I guess gay people aren't Americans - and California turns out to be as bad as Florida or Arizona today. I'm disgusted.

Although I'm not a Californian, I agree with this wholeheartedly. Would like to see some of that nationalized, however.

Get those petitions out and I'll sign 'em.

I suggest that the super-majority be 66% to amend the state constitution - PLUS a measure to stop these neo-cons from changing a word on a measure and resubmitting it for the next ballot.

Put in a statue that once a measure is voted down it not be allowed on a state ballot for at least 5 years.
