So I stayed home sickish today - headache, body ache, and queasy. I've spent most of it sleeping. I usually hate taking off sick on Mondays, because that implies that I "overdid it" on the weekend. But the only thing that I overdid this weekend was heat. I want my A/C back - I don't deal with heat well any more.

The damn move is done on the Cupertino end - just a few final bills from utilities to deal with, and making sure COAs are done. The living room is still full of boxes, and the unpacking will probably take months, even with help. Moan.

Because of the move I totally missed the neice and nephews birthdays in May. Not unusual for me anyway, but I wish I was a better correspondant.

Bleah. Email and back to bed.

Awwwww, sorry you are feeling "puny" my little lamb. I thought you'd like the lamb reference. (Your sister told me she always felt a little upset that you got to be a soft, cuddly animal like a lamb and she just got "Boo Girl" or "Chrissy Girl". She wanted to be soft and cuddly too. I didn't know that or we would have had Gma Dind call her Chrissy Koala! LOL) I hope you are feeling much better soon. Surely by now most people know you well enough to know that you have outgrown the overdoing stage for weekends!

As for a/c, I suggest a bedroom air conditioner at the very least. If you remember, when Gma and Gpa Horace lived in Palatine, they got a humongus(sic) a/c unit and put it in the dining room window. Then they got a slightly smaller unit for the bedroom on the other end of the house and used the attic exhaust fan to pull the cool air through. It worked well enough that we all went out there many hot summer afternoons and Gpa and your dad would take the train to Palatine and meet us there for supper and some cool until the sun went down along with the temperature, at least a little bit. The A/C unit and all new ductwork for Gma's place was $2800 last year and that is for a 4 ton unit, same as is here. MAYBE you could work out some sort of rent to pay part of it over two or three years and convince your landlord to install central air and heat pump for the place. You usually stay at a place for a long time, so it would be for your benefit. Also, it would increase the value of the property. I think that is a win-win situation. Just something to think about. Love you! I wish you cool nights, fuzzy slippers and, of course, chocolate.
