Enter a subject <- dorky!!

This is shit. Sans-serif shit on the "Update Journal" page. This whole fucking site is going kiddie style with the trendy sans-serif fonts and javashitscript dropdown crap.

Look at the default "Subject" - it says "Enter a Subject"!! Dumb. If I want a subject, I'll enter one on my own, you don't have to order me to!

Now look at the posting options "show this entry to:" Is that god damned insulting or what?? I'm not fucking 6, I'm 45.

The entry window is now goddamn sans-serif. I HATE SAN-SERIF FONTS!!!!!. I can barely read them on other people's pages. Now I have to type entries in them? Sucksville.

BTW, shitheads, I can put in my own image tags and links. Really. I swear, I was hand coding HTML before these "designers" were out of high school.

Oh, and the pop-up piece of shit that is under the userpic mouseover doesn't actually let you *select* the userpic you want - it just lets you click fruitlessly. Seriously borken.

Just one more piece of non-brokenness fixed, probably at great expense, while their sysadmins whine that they can't fix database errors and commenting problems for only $25 per user per year, and can't afford redundant hosting, or at least a *decent* colo. Sad.

I don't mind the sans-serif so long as the letters don't appear teensy-tiny the way 1/3 of my f-list did for a while. But putting this in place was presumably why I had to hand-change six entries from "friends" to the A-S custom friends group Tuesday--custom friends group kept not coming up as a posting option. And I do find "Enter a topic" annoying, though thanks be, I just tested it and that doesn't appear as the topic when I don't enter one.

The constant tinkering is annoying to me, also, and I'm a classic luser. It would be annoying even without the fact the new versions are always more graphics-heavy and therefore slower to load--and the fact the site has been malfunctioning annoyingly for weeks. It's interfering with my enjoyment of the site, especially in stolen moments on the dial-up from work. Where, if anywhere, can one express this frustration? Where are they saying they can't fix the database errors and the missing comment notifications? I see nothing whatsoever on the Status page and opening a Support ticket seems like shooting a squirrel with an elephant gun, but damnit, if they're going to spend time farting around with fonts while we're all fighting to actually read and respond to comments . . . !

Death to san-serif!
You sound exactly like me, especially when it comes to posting and hand-coding. Cmon, this is child's play, leave the fricking interface alone.

I had a prof who only accepted papers in sans-serif fonts. Unless you ran up to the computer lab and changed the whole thing within 10 minutes of her saying she wouldn't accept it, she'd flunk you. And I saw her time people. D:

Ya know, it worked before they fixed it.

They do colo at 365 Main, which isn't terribly cheap, but as you can imagine they're kind of a shitty colo all told. (BitTorrent colos there as well.)
